Badrinath Dham
Badrinath is one among Char-Dham (four pilgrims) situated at the bank of Alaknanda River at the
height of 11,000 ft. Lord Vishnu is worshiped here.
Adi guru Shankaracharya established the Badrinath Temple in a regulated way and after that many
important personalities rebuilt/repaired it. Since then millions of peoples visited this holy place.
Devotee or tourist can reach Badrinath by road.Buses are available from Rishikesh, Haridwar and
Dehradun. Garhwal Mandal Vikas Nigam and many private operators organize tour to Badrinath.
Many Dharamshala and hotels are available to stay here.
Being a religious place whole Garhwal is a dry zone (No alcohol area) and permit is required to buy
alcohol.
The major towns en-rout to Badrinath are Rishikesh, Srinagar-Garhwal, RudraPrayag, Chamoli, Joshimath
and Badrinath.
The Best time to go here is during summer. Even thought it is summer time a hot clothes are required.
